Do I have to pay upfront fees?

No and you should think carefully about working with anyone, lender or broker, who insist on charging an upfront fee.
Do I need experience of property refurbishment?

No. As long as you have professionals in place to help you with the refurb, we are comfortable. Most refurbs we fund are simply a new kitchen or bathroom and a lick of paint, so it’s not too much of a stretch for a competent DIY’er.

That said, we also fund heavy refurbishments too – they just take a little bit closer monitorng to make sure things stay on track.
